December Blockchain Meetup in Edinburgh:

Dug Campbell - 2017: The Year that Was Too Big For A 'Summary of the Year' Talk

Dug is a writer, consultant, organiser and decentralisation advocate. He founded the Scottish Bitcoin Meetup, ran the first Ethereum meetups in Scotland and established the Scottish Bitcoin Conference in 2014.

He's followed the cryptocurrency and blockchain scene for a number of years, blogging regularly (www.dugcampbell.com (http://www.dugcampbell.com/)) and providing press commentary to the BBC, STV, CNN and The Herald amongst others. Back in February 2014, Dug gave a well-received early TEDx talk on Bitcoin (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CypPMzZinys) entitled 'Bitcoin - More Than Just Money'. (though he says the only reason he'll ever watch it again is if he wants to remember what he looked like with more hair...)

In previous lives, he spent a decade as a lawyer helping VC's and startups secure investment before striking out on his own as a digital strategy consultant for tech businesses. This led to a 3-year stint as Product Manager of a local FinTech startup (The IDCo). These days, Dug now spends a lot of time with a sore head, thinking how to help blockchain businesses around the globe explain exactly why their technology is quite so important.

He still maintains that he's still learned more from r/Bitcoin/ over the years than either his law degree or MBA. You can contact him on Twitter (@dugcampbell) or LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dugcampbell/)
