We all envision using blockchain technology to ’save the world,’ but extremely few companies have managed to do so. In an effort to interface emerging technology with communities living in emerging markets, it’s important to understand what the problem is, what the environmental constraints are, and what the community’s history is.

In this session, we delve into blockchain for social impact and, specifically, the history of the African American community and the advent of tokenization.

Robert Greenfield is the CEO of Emerging Impact, a benefit corporation that supports NGOs and government agencies to leverage blockchain technology in social protection programming. He served as the former Head of Social Impact & Diversity Programming at ConsenSys and has managed some of the world's highest-profile blockchain for social impact pilots in collaboration with the United Nations, Oxfam International, the Red Cross, and the World Wildlife Fund.
