Based in New York, he strengthens our growing Americas team. Previously, he was a Senior Analyst at PitchBook, where he launched research on fintech, insurtech, and crypto, with work featured in CNBC, Bloomberg, WSJ, and CoinDesk. Matthew Homer- Founder & General Partner, The Venture Dept
Matthew Homer is the Founder & General Partner of The Venture Dept.
Previously, he was an investor at Nyca Partners, where he remains involved as an Operating Partner in an advisory capacity.
Before venture investing, he was Executive Deputy Superintendent at the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), where he oversaw the licensing and supervision of major digital asset firms, including some of the largest exchanges, custodians, and stablecoin issuers in the U.S. Earlier in his career, he worked as a federal regulator at the FDIC, focusing on policy development and new technologies.
Matt has also held operating roles in fintech startups, starting at Quovo and continuing at Plaid after its acquisition.
He currently serves as an independent director at Gemini Trust Company and Standard Custody & Trust Company (a Ripple subsidiary).
Matt holds a master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Jelena Djuric- Co-Founder & CEO, NobleJelena previously co-founded the Canadian Web3 Council, a leading national advocacy organization for the cryptocurrency and Web3 ecosystem. Prior to her work on Noble, she served as a core contributor to a number of blockchain protocols and businesses in the Cosmos, Dfinity/Internet Computer and Celo ecosystems.
