This is a group for any software developers, technologists or business people looking to learn more about developing actual blockchain apps or systems. These meetings are open and free to all but please keep in mind that this is a very technical meetup and not a Bitcoin 101 event. If you’d like to learn the basics of what Bitcoin or a blockchain is, go ahead and check out the Manila Ethereum or Makati Digital Currency meetup group :)
During these sessions, we’ll be doing actual coding starting with Solidity on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Possible future coding sessions could make use of Hyperledger and the hashgraph.
During this meetup we'll take a closer look at Ethereum 2.0 (which is not live yet!). Chris (Consensys) , Caspar (Oost&Voort) and perhaps other community members can share their insights, hopes and fears on this topic.
We will make a first attempt at checking out the new testnet, and find out what will change for Solidity/Eth developers once all the changes are effective.
Blockchain development skills are highly sought after and the demand for talent is ever-increasing as more and more companies realize the disruptive potential of decentralized systems in changing the industry status quo of how things are being done. These sessions will be beneficial should you plan to start on your own project or would like to work for a company aspiring to innovate blockchain projects.
We are offering these sessions for free, and upon joining our meetups you will be invited to our Facebook Group where you can code with the rest of the community.
Though it is not required, we still recommend that you commit to attending regularly and be engaged in community discussions for you to get the most out of these sessions. First-timers are welcome as modules for past sessions will be made available and guidance will be provided.

DISH 2019 is a startup challenge that aims to enable Metro-Manila based developers to prototype and build relevant and sustainable platforms using blockchain technology. It will be led and organised by Blockdevs Asia towards the goal of promoting blockchain use case design and engineering skill awareness for potential local talent that will hopefully culminate in a wider hiring pool for participating blockchain companies.
Startups, students and teams are all welcome to participate in the hackathon, with winners announced upon closing the event.
