We’re excited to share that we are updating our search experience to make it easier for people on Meetup to find the events that meet their needs. Whether it’s by day, location, or online versus in person, it will now be easier to find and RSVP to the events you love.
Here’s what’s new
We’re adding search filters that allow members to:
- Filter events by type: whether they’re happening online or in-person
- Find in-person events nearby by filtering on distance
- Search for events on specific dates
You will be able to use any combination of filters at once to find events that align with your schedule, location, and social distancing needs. Want to find an in-person event within 10 miles of you next Thursday? You can now do that!
Since we first released our new search algorithm, we’ve received lots of great feedback from members and organizers. And as we promised in our Meetup Live on The Evolution of Search at Meetup and our chat about Meetup’s Product Roadmap, we take product feedback seriously and work to incorporate it as fast as possible.
When this is happening
Android users will see this update in the latest version of the app. Many web and iOS app users already have access to these great new filters, and they will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
Get connected with online events
Since Meetup launched online events in March 2020, organizers have scheduled more than 1,500,000 virtual events. Members from all over the world are connecting on Meetup in ways they’ve never been able to before. Now it’s even easier to find the events that are right for you!
