- A new homepage with a new look and feel, easier navigation, and better recommendations made for you. Our newest members have this experience but everyone will have our new homepage by the end of the year.
- The ability to RSVP to and attend events that are in progress. This just launched this week across all platforms.
- Our search helps you find the most relevant events (here’s a Meetup Live event on the evolution of search at Meetup). We’re going to be rolling out filters to help you find online or in person events, find events by a specific date or distance, and there’s more to come. Event search filters will be rolling out in the next couple of weeks with group search following shortly after.
- Our biggest priorities in 2021:
- Improving online events: We need to make it easier to create and join an online event. We are looking to add features to better integrate some of the most popular video conferencing solutions, we’re looking at taking attendance, etc.
- Finding Events just for you: In 2021, you’ll see us really digging in to ways to let you find events and groups as well as stepping up our game in what we proactively tell you about.
- Providing organizers with the tools they need: Our goal is ensure organizers are setup for success. Where organizers are already using a 3rd party tool we’ll work to integrate and make them easy to use. We want to bring one continuous and seamless experience whether you’re on the computer or phone.

- Will we see any updates to the mailing list?
- Dan: We’ve done a lot of homework on our various communication tools. It is on our mind and list of organizer tools for 2021 to resolve some of this.
- Have you looked at ways to improve onboarding for first time users?
- Prerna: Absolutely yes. That’s part of the second bucket that Dan talked about, which is making sure that members find the right and most relevant events. And a big part of that is reconfiguring our onboarding experience and making sure that we’re really capturing what the intent and interest of that user is.
- Will we have the ability to add both a physical location and a video link?
- Dan: For events, especially where you have like a speaker or a panel, where it would translate really well to a webinar or a broadcast, I would love to find a way to make it easy to add a video link at the same time as having a physical location. So yep, we are on that. We fully anticipate getting to stuff like that soon.
