Join us for a snorkelling skill share morning!

We will combine movement and sensory awareness to create a connection to the underwater world and to our own body-minds.

Rather than chasing the next spectacular experience, we will train our eyes on the small and the understated. We will lovingly look for the connections that sustain the intelligent marine ecosystem. And we, how do we fit in?
During the 3-hour skill share, I will offer the following:

  • Breathing and sensory awareness exercises - to open your lungs and senses in preparation for the water
  • Introduction to the art of listening and noticing – to help you pay attention to subtle cues while snorkelling
  • Snorkelling techniques and wildlife interaction protocols – to guide your underwater interactions so that they have the least negative impact on the environment
  • Self-guided snorkelling session at Clovelly Beach

What to bring:

  • Mask, snorkel and fins
  • Rashie or wetsuit for protection
  • Towel
  • Sun protection materials
  • Water bottle
  • Notepad and pen
  • Cushion (optional)

This invitation is for 14+ confident swimmers only. I will encourage you to buddy up as I won't be teaching or monitoring whilst snorkelling.

I reserve the right to cancel the event last minute due to unsuitable weather conditions.

Observing marine life can foster a deep appreciation for the natural world. I hope that the connection thus forged will inspire in you a sense of responsibility for the protection of the ocean.

While this is a free event, please register attendance here:

“I fell in love with [my wild octopus friend], but also with that amazing wildness that she represented. What she taught me was to feel that you’re part of this place, not a visitor.” Craig Foster, My Octopus Teacher
