You’re Invited to the Blue Danube Leaders Meeting!
We’re excited to welcome you and share more about who we are and what we do. Join us for an insightful and engaging experience! At Blue Danube Leaders Toastmasters, our meetings follow a structured format designed to help participants develop both public speaking and leadership skills. Whether you’re a seasoned speaker or just beginning your journey, our meetings offer valuable opportunities for growth.
Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect at a typical meeting:
Welcome and Greeting:
The meeting begins with a warm welcome from the Club President and Toastmaster of the Evening or the meeting's host.
A short introduction round is the first activity of the evening, where every participant is asked to say a few words on the evening topic.
Word of the Day:
A "Word of the Day" is introduced. Members are encouraged to use this word whenever they speak to expand their vocabulary.
Table Topics:
This is an impromptu speaking segment where members (and guests) are asked to deliver short speeches on a given topic or question without prior preparation.
Table Topics help participants improve their ability to think on their feet.
Short Break:
Usually 10 minutes
Prepared Speeches:
Members who have signed up in advance give prepared speeches. The length is usually 5-7 minutes, the topic is chosen by the speaker. Each speaker will be evaluated by a designated Evaluator.
Evaluations:
Evaluators provide feedback on the prepared speeches highlighting strengths and offering suggestions for improvement.
Effective evaluations are a crucial part of the Toastmasters experience, as they help members grow and develop their speaking skills.
Reports and Role Players:
Various meeting roles are reported on, such as the Grammarian reporting on language usage, the Ah-Counter counting filler words, and the Timer keeping track of speaking times.
Other roles may include the General Evaluator who provides an overview and feedback of the meeting and the Ballot Counter for best speech and evaluation. Our webpage: bluedanubeleaders.euVisit us! Be our guest!
