Jim’s Birthday Hike

LOCATION CHANGE: Please be aware, we are now going to meet at the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center and carpool to the trailhead. There are too many attendees to park at the trailhead.

It’s time to celebrate again….This hike is a special one, created solely to honor and praise our very own Legend, Mr. Jim!! Our fearless hiker Jim will be an amazing 83years young this year on November 7th, so come celebrate and honor him with me!! He has also requested no presents, only cards and well wishes!

Please note that I have created a separate event for the post hike rehydration, in case we have anyone who would like to attend one and not the other. Please sign up for both if you are planning on hiking and rehydrating with us!

We will depart at 9:00am sharp so please arrive early enough to get ready to head out by 9. We will hike at whatever pace Jim wants (after all it is all about him today!). This b-day stroll will be about 3miles with about 650ft of elevation gain.

Hiking Route: From the parking lot we will simply take the AT north to the beautiful Compton Peak West vista. We will enjoy the view to our heart's content and then we will turn around and head back to our vehicles.

Parking: We will park at the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center at mile 5 off the Skyline Drive. From there we will carpool to the trailhead.
