Swimming Hole Hike Series: Panthertown - Schoolhouse Falls, Tranquility Point

For this first watering hole hike of the year we are going to do things a little different ;) Since it may still be a bit cool for some people to swim, I picked a must-see area, Panthertown Valley, with lots of waterfalls and different terrains and we are making this more of a longer hike than usual, with several waterfalls, a sandy beach area and a stunning vista to view from a spot called Tranquility Point on Little Green Mountain! Schoolhouse falls is the main waterfall that draws people here and we will definitely be visiting it and will have an opportunity to swim below the falls or swim in the river at the beach area if anyone so desires. If you have never been to Panthertown Valley, here is your chance to get a peak into the variation of terrains it has to offer!

This is a good length hike of moderate difficulty, so everyone should come prepared with the right kind of hiking gear, including adequate shoes or boots for hiking, snacks, water and sandals or swimming shoes. There will be a minimum of 2 water crossings, so you will want to have some kind of footgear to change into that will protect your feet when crossing the water & not get your hiking shoes wet. This is a moderately challenging hike. You will need to be able to keep up a good pace and have enough stamina and hiking experience to complete the hike with everyone else and not get injured.
