Carrington & Burtis Arch Hike

Join Hikers of the Bluegrass for another fun hiking adventure. For this hike we are headed to Salt Lick, Kentucky near Cave Run Lake area.

Burtis Arch. We will drive and park at a small trailhead. Hike down an old logging road then bushwhack to the top of a ridge.
Estimated 3 miles, 1200 elevation gain. rated Moderate

Located on the Sheltowee Trace is Furnace Arch also known as Carrington Arch, the trail starts off strenuous; but then things even out once we are up on the ridge. Before reaching Carrington Arch we will stop to check out Sky High Arch.

8AM Carpool leaves Lexington, follow GPS to Cabelas

9 AM for anyone not carpooling meet in Clear Creek Picnic Day Use area. The link below should get you to right location. The day use area is before the campground.
