ROUTE
We’ll start at Martin's Fork trailhead and hike an unofficial trail up to (this section is steep) Raven Rock overlook. There is some scrambling required to reach the top of the ridge. For added safety, I will bring a rope, though it is possible to complete the scramble without one. After enjoying views on top of the ridge we will hike to the end of Raven Rock Overlook trail where we see Raven Rock in the distance. We'll back track part of the trail to pick up the Daniel Boone Byway and hike over to Auxier Ridge trailhead. From Auxier Ridge we hike the Double Arch & Courthouse Rock loop, then reverse our route and head back to Martin's Fork Trailhead.
Highlights include...
- Raven Rock Overlook (view of Raven Rock)
- Double Arch & Courthouse Rock
- Views from Auxier Ridge
