Estimated time: 6-7 hours
Trail Conditions: good but some parts will be overgrown. There are steps going down to Yahoo Falls and more steps later to get back up to Yahoo Trailhead.
ROUTE
We’ll start at the Yahoo Falls Trailhead and take a short walk to check out the Overlook of Cumberland River then hike to Yahoo Falls and Yahoo Arch. Along the way, we'll take a short detour to visit Marker's Arch. We'll get back on the main backcountry trail where we cross the road to pick up the second half of our route. We will come to an area called Cotton Patch Hollow. Off trail not far from the Sheltowee is Cotton Patch Hollow Falls, this could be optional. Our lunch break will be on the Cumberland River where will enjoy the beach and scenic river views. After lunch we'll continue on the Sheltowee and hike thru the Alum Ford campground and day use area. The picnic area has bathrooms and picnic tables. We take one more break here before hiking out. We'll finally end where we began at the Yahoo Falls trailhead. Dinner will be on the way home at the Dairy Bar.

Experience Level: This hike is intended for those who can handle longer mileage and uneven terrain and move at a steady pace. If you’re newer but ready for the challenge of a longer route this would be a good one to join.
8AM. We will meet at Cabelas. We'll combine hikers and gear into few cars as possible and carpool together to the trailhead. We'll stop for Breakfast at McDonald's in Mt Vernon.
