Carter Caves Cross Country Trail

Carter Caves in one of the states oldest and most popular parks. Though the caves are the parks biggest draw, there are also exciting back country trails that visit stately arches and rock houses reminiscent of the Red River Gorge and the Big South Fork. (50 Hikes in KY)

Essential Hiking Gear

• Sturdy hiking boots or shoes with good traction
• 2-3 L of Water, Snacks & lunch
• Daypack for gear
• Weather-appropriate layers (30-50 degrees)
• Trekking poles (optional)

No Guest: Hikers must have their own membership to RSVP for this event.

Experience Level: This hike is intended for those who can handle longer mileage and uneven terrain and move at a steady pace. If you’re newer but ready for the challenge of a longer route this would be a good one to join.

7:30. We will meet at Cabela's. We'll combine hikers and gear into few cars as possible and carpool together to the trailhead. We'll stop for Breakfast at McDonald's on the way.
The carpool will leave no later than 7:35am
