Trail Conditions: good but expect mud

ROUTE
We’ll start at Lick Creek Falls trailhead and follow the main trail as it parallels Lick Creek. The terrain is mostly wooded with gradual elevation changes, but includes rocky sections, roots, and muddy areas from recent storms. We will cross Lick Creek numerous times which only adds to the fun. We’ll return to the trailhead via the same route, retracing our steps.

Essential Hiking Gear

  • Sturdy hiking boots or shoes with good traction
  • 2–3 liters of water
  • Snacks & lunch
  • Weather-appropriate layers (50-70 degrees)
  • Trekking poles (optional)
  • Dry shoes/extra socks (ride home)

Experience Level This hike is best suited for hikers who are comfortable with longer distances and uneven terrain. We’ll move at a steady pace and regroup at key points along the route.

Carpool to the TH
8AM meet at Cabelas, to carpool together to the trailhead. From Lexington it is a 2-hour drive. I can take 3 in my car but will need another driver voluteer to take a few more. We will stop for a quick breakfast off I-75 Estimated time to begin hiking -10:30 am.

Post hike dinner at the Dairy Bar
