Kayak & Hike Adventure in OH

Join Hikers of the Bluegrass for a fun kayak & hike adventure in Harrison Ohio! We’ll start the day kayaking at Green Acres Kayak & Canoe, then later head over to nearby Shawnee Lookout Park for a scenic 2-mile hike overlooking the Ohio River.

KAYAK DETAILS
We'll purchase our tickets and sign waiver on site. Green Acres shuttles us to the drop off location, and we paddle down to the pick-up location. 7 miles on moving water will go by fast, so we will take our time and get to enjoy the beaches along the way.

Length of River- 7 mile
Dept of River-2-4 ft deep for most of the trip, 8-10ft in some spots
Cost: 39.95 plus tax per person admission
Tickets Purchased on-site
Payment accepted: credit card, debit, cash, google & apple pay
Kayak rental-sit on top style (not permitted to bring your own)
Coolers are permitted but must be small enough to fit on kayak.
Life Jackets are issued and included in the fee
Optional Food Truck: Jacks River Run Shack is located along the river
Waiver -must sign a waiver to participate, waivers are signed when we purchase tickets.

WEATHER: This event will get rescheduled to Sunday, Aug 16th if the forecast is calling for rain on Saturday. If both days are gloom & doom then I will cancel the event.

Carpool & other details
We'll meet at our usual spot at Cabelas in Lexington to carpool. if you aren't going to carpool you can meet us at Green Acres. See website for directions and let me know if you are meeting us there.
