Raven Run Moderate Beginner Hike

Join us for this moderate beginner hike at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary in Lexington, KY. We’ll hike the Raven Run Red Trail for ~6 miles and ~600 feet of ascent.

Recommended Hiking Gear
Bring water and a snack, and wear shoes with good traction. Sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and other weather-appropriate gear are also recommended as needed.

Fitness Level (Moderate Beginner Hike)
This hike is suitable for beginners with some hiking experience. You should be comfortable walking for about an hour at a steady pace without becoming overly winded and be able to climb several flights of stairs without needing a long recovery. The trail includes approximately 600 feet of total ascent, spread across several hills.

Hike Start
Meet in the Raven Run Parking Lot at 8:00 a.m. At 8:10 a.m. we'll stop by the restrooms at the nature center and and then head out.

Hike End
If we finish around 11:00 a.m., we'll go to Boonedogs for lunch.
