Chris Strom Presents Fab.js

Details

This month brings us a presentation from Chris Strom on Fab.js so come and enjoy the pizza and geekery. If you need a primer on Node.js before you come, check out our video of the Node.js presentation by Paul Barry - https://vimeo.com/9205... (https://vimeo.com/9205350)

What: Fab.js is a modular, asynchronous framework built on top of node.js. It exploits the functional nature of JavaScript in a manner very reminiscent of jQuery. This makes for very elegant looking applications and opportunities to push the boundaries of what it means to call JavaScript functional. This talk will provide a brief introduction to fab.js, some real-world reasons why you might want to (or might not want to) use it, and then dive into to some heavy code examples.

Who: Chris Strom has been coding since Perl was cool and before JavaScript existed. He spends most of his time coding in Ruby nowadays, but is doing more and more JavaScript. He blogs way too often at https://japhr.blogspot... (https://japhr.blogspot.com), twitters at @eee_c and is the Director of Development for mdlogix (https://mdlogix.com... (https://mdlogix.com)) by day.

See you there
-Shea
