Balto/DC JavaScript Users - Next Weeks Agenda

From: Shea Frederick (.
Sent on: Tuesday, May 26, 2009 1:06 PM
Everyone;

Were a week away from the June meetup, and its time to get your submissions for the show and tell session. The meetup will be split into two parts, the first half will be a presentation by John Schulz on JavaScript debugging at run time (in the browser) and how to effectively debug your JavaScript. The second half will be the show and tell (or ask) where we will cover submissions from group members.

Your submissions should be sent (reply to me directly) before the end of the week, and should fall under one of the following general categories.

  • Check out my sweetness! (A broad overview of a project your working or have completed that utilizes JavaScript)
  • This code rocks! (A small chunk of JavaScript code - no more than 50 lines - that you wrote and think is bad a$$)
  • OMG! im stuck on this JavaScript bit - help group! (we will take some feedback from the group on how to tackle a small JS problem you present - this could also be a request for optimization suggestions)

I will setup some slides from the info you send and present them to the group. If your submitting option #1, please send either a link to the live site and descriptions of what to do/click and why its sweet (ie: whats happening in the JS behind the scenes) or you can send screen shots with descriptions of whats happening and how it was accomplished. For options #2 or #3, please attach all html, image and JS code needed to run the code locally or a link to a live version and a description of whats happening.

The submissions presented will be chosen from randomly, and if were lucky I think we can cover 3 or 4 in the time we have available.

Thanks
-Shea
