Thursday Business Lunch
Come to our next meeting this coming Thursday! BNI Connections is a wise use of your lunchtime. This dynamic business networking lunch in Vancouver BC gives you the chance to promote your business and meet leading industry professionals. What to expect from your first meeting… We know that attending your first BNI meeting can be exciting! Don’t worry though as the meetings are very structured and our visitor hosts will be on hand to help you. Arriving at the meeting You should aim to arrive prior to 11:45 am – you’ll be asked to sign in and pay $32 for an outstanding lunch. Our friendly visitor hosts will greet you with tea, coffee, or juice and start to introduce you to the other members and visitors for open networking before lunch is served. This is a great opportunity for you to work out who you’d like to do business with. The meeting begins Choose an item from the menu. The president will introduce the leadership team before moving on to the education slot, followed by the 60-second round. 60-Second Presentation This is your opportunity to introduce yourself to the chapter and to tell us what you do. More importantly, tell us what type of referral you would like. Use this checklist: • Your name and the name of your business • What you do • Who you would like an introduction to • What you would like to do for that person During the networking portion of the meeting, you may be asked for your business cards - make sure you bring loads as members tend to take two or three each. Report and Ten Minute Presentation Following the 60-second round are some reports from the leadership team before moving swiftly on to the 10-minute speaker. Each week, one of the members makes a 10-minute presentation, when they can go into detail about their work and what sort of referrals they would like from fellow members. Referrals and Feedback This takes place during the contribution round, when members pass referrals and testimonials to each other. We don’t expect visitors to pass referrals (but you can if you want to), so instead we ask you to comment on the meeting when it’s your turn. This could be on anything from the quality of the lunch to our warm and friendly welcome, etc! End The meeting closes by 1:15 pm, but many members stay behind for more open networking.

Some of us joined an organization called BNI, and our chapter is the BNI Connections.

What is BNI?

BNI is a professional marketing organization specializing in word-of-mouth referrals. BNI’s proprietary business networking strategy, allows one person per business specialty in each chapter. In it’s simplest form, your fellow BNI members carry your business cards. When they meet someone who could use your product or service they pass along your card and share testimonial information about you. It’s like having a team of sales people working to promote your business.
