About us
If you live in Birmingham or The West Midlands and enjoy playing various card games and board games, feel free to join us! We have games for casual gamers or those who are new to boardgaming, and also for more regular gamers who are immersed in the addictive world of Modern Tabletop.
We have several regular board/card game venues in Birmingham City centre, but also include events at other local venues such as in Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Moseley, Wolverhampton, Lichfield, Erdington, Jewellery Quarter, etc.
We also aim to hold events on different days of the week. We already have regular game nights on certain slots during the month, but would welcome other organizers who would like to arrange games events on any slots that are free.
Our event nights are fully hosted, and we can all bring our games along. We promote proper group social boardgaming, so we don't normally promote events at cafes and shops (i.e. businesses) where you may play board games at any time, but you may find nobody else there to play with, or nobody inviting you to join a game.

UK Games Expo 2026, NEC
See main event text, GBUK Games Expo 2026, NEC
Meet: Saturday 30th May @ 11am
Venue: The National Exhibition Centre, B40 1NT, BirminghamAnnual festival weekend promoting tabletop games. A number of our members attend each year, and usually play or pick up some interesting new board games on the market.
Meeting Others
The festival will run over 3 days (Fri-Sun), and our proposal is that our group members have an opportunity to meet up and attend at the same time (rather than everyone miss each other because we have stubbornly all chosen to go at different times). We propose meeting at 11:00 on Saturday Morning, staying for around 4-6 hours, although this can be firmed up nearer the time.
In recent years over 25000 gamers have attended (allegedly or at some point) from all over the UK. We in the West Midlands are lucky in that we don't have to think about accommodation, though parking can be a nuisance if you are not a public transport person.
We do not appoint a specific person to host, in the grandiose manner of what this word implies for the simple reason of the impracticality of maintaining contact throughout. However we encourage those attending to share this responsibility by imparting their plans below so others can look out for you.
