Arcade Talk – Writing cosy games: how to craft a cosy story!

Details

Cosy games - what are they, and why are they like that? And why does it make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside? In this 40 minute talk, Maya Bloem will dissect how to write a cosy game and outline some key pitfalls, tips and suggestions on crafting an amazing cosy story.

Hosted by Maya Bloem! Maya is a freelance game writer and narrative designer based in Rotterdam. She is known for writing Mail Time (Dutch Game Award 2023 winner), Tracks of Thought and Reach: SOS, and predominantly works on cosy games. She is known for her comedic style of writing as well as discussing personal themes in narrative. Currently Maya is making a game about what it’s like to be a horse. The demos of both Mail Time and Tracks of Thought will be playable at the venue!

*Free gaming afterwards!

Please be aware that this isn't our only event page. We have numerous exciting gatherings in the works, and there will be a larger turnout than what is currently shown here.
