Summer Game Day - MingleFest III!

Board Game Society will return to Boardwalk for its Summer Game Day on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 12-5pm.

Summer approaches--scorching temperatures, shoes melting on the sidewalk, suffocating humidity--a veritable dystopian nightmare! I'm here to help--come play games in a climate-controlled environment on June 15 to beat the heat. (Or maybe beat other players at Heat--see what I did there?)

But wait! It's not just any old Game Day--MingleFest returns! (Awaits applause... still waiting...)

For MingleFest, your goal is to play with as many different people as possible in order to earn drawing tickets--you get one per distinct person with which you played. My goal is to get folks to meet one another rather than "camping out" with the same group for the duration of the event.

Now, let's play games and not game the system. You'll need to play games to completion--of course, short games work better for MingleFest than your favorite marathon Euro game. Games for larger groups work well, too, but to put a cap on that, you can only claim a maximum of 7 other players from a single game.

I will have smaller prize(s) for the Mostest Mingler(s)--those who mingle with the most people, in case you were wondering. And of course, the more you mingle, the more drawing tickets you receive, improving your chances of winning a prize in the drawing. (In addition to your Mostest Mingler prize, if applicable.)

Our Game Days are open to the public and feature all the all-ages "open" (as opposed to "scheduled") board gaming you can stand--bring your own games, buy games or choose games from Boardwalk's extensive library. Due to space considerations, don't block playing areas with games--consider leaving some in the car.

As an all-ages event, please follow Boardwalk's "watch your language" policy while parents keep their children well-behaved.

We will hold a drawing for 3+ new games (or game bundles!) at the end of the event (about 4:30pm). You get one (digital) ticket for attending, one for being new to a Game Day or bringing someone new, and a bonus ticket for each distinct person with which you played a game. You must be present and wearing your BGS-provided name tag to be eligible. Winners will select games from the prize pool in the order their names are drawn--maximum one prize per person or household.
