Hey there, BGT community!

I wanted to try something new this weekend, to see the level of interest. Swapping out our games for walking shoes and taking our mission "off the board" and onto the trail.

Our group is about using games as a bridge to community, conversation, and emotional well-being. It turns out that getting out into nature, walking, and talking is just as powerful for our well-being as the social component of our game nights.

Join us for a restorative walk and talk along the beautiful Noland Trail. Think of it as a different kind of "game night". A judgment-free space to decompress, connect with new people, and practice being present, all while enjoying the fresh air.

We won't be playing board games, but in a way, we'll be "playing the game of life" together: sharing stories, enjoying the moment, and supporting each other one step at a time.

What to Expect:

  • A friendly, casual-paced walk on the scenic Noland Trail.
  • The same warm, welcoming, and supportive BGT community.
  • A focus on conversation and connection, not speed or endurance.
  • This trail is five miles, so it can be a challenge, but we'll flex the speed as necessary. I expect it will take roughly two hours at a casual pace.

The Details:

  • Where: We will meet in front of the Mariner's Museum in Newport News (at the entrance to the Noland Trail).
  • When: Sundays at 0800
  • What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, a bottle of water, and yourself. Pets are welcome!

We believe healing and connection can happen anywhere. Let's explore that together!
