What we’re about

Board Gamers of Reno is a weekly game night meetup group. We meet every Tuesday to play a variety of board and table top games.

We start at 5:00 and usually play until 9:00 or 10:00 (sometimes later if you desire a particularly epic game). Everyone is welcome: from experienced tactical masters to kids just starting in on serious games and anyone interested in exploring a new hobby. There is no cost to join our group or to attend our game nights. If you ever receive notices about dues or fees, please contact us because those messages are fraudulent!

Baldini’s Casino has been letting our group use their upstairs event room for our game nights. This means we have a gaming space that is well lit, relatively quiet and large enough for lots of game tables. In addition, there are a couple of restaurants and a full bar downstairs.

There is no permanent club game library but many of us bring a selection of games from our collections for people to play. Typically, when someone introduces a new game, they will teach it to those playing. All games are welcome from light filler and party games to heavy strategy, even some miniatures, storytelling, and RPG like games occasionally come out.

Generally, there is more interest in playing the current generation of games (Ticket to Ride, Azul, Catan, Wingspan) then older classics like Monopoly, Scrabble or Bridge. If these are your desire you may not be able to find enough other people to play but are still welcome.

If you are new to board gaming, please come out to explore a new hobby. We have taught many people by starting with basic games and advancing into more complex ones. During this process, we will explore the different mechanics and types of games. Eventually you will learn what your personal preferences are and hopefully have a favorite game or two.

Drop ins are welcome and RSVPs are not required. However, if you do RSVP, it helps us know how many tables to set up and what games to bring. If your schedule has you arriving late you will have a better chance of finding an open game if you message us with your arrival time and we can attempt to hold a game open for you.
