Family Board Games: Sunday Afternoon

You are encouraged to bring your family (wife, children, etc.) and board games that you usually play (or want to play) together and possibly with other families.

Yes, couples and singles are also invited to participate.

I will attempt to have a small variety of board games that are appropriate for different younger age ranges of children (starting at about 4-5 years) to adults.

It is fine to bring adult (but family appropriate) board games with you.
I wil attempt to bring along a couple myself.

Enjoy! Changes are often a good thing. But, no thanks. The time and location does not work out for me. I enjoy church at the 11:00am hour. I will miss the meetings at Brothers Pizza, but there was a bad glare in there, and the heat coming in doors open. But now there would be blasts of cold. I am glad you all have found a better place.

Thanks for you reply. I was curious on what type games you play. I play Cribbage, chess, backgammon, and a host of card games, including pinochle, hearts, canasta, yahtzee, six-step, dominoes, and a few I didn't mention.

Generally, we play Euro style board games. Games like Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan, etc.

If you haven't played these types of games, you should give them a try.

My group doesn't include any type of card games whether it is poker or magic the gathering (a collectible card game). For family night I have games for younger children (which adults can play) like Chutes & Ladders and some cooperative games for kids like Secret Door. I also have some basic cooperative games for adults like Forbidden Island. Of course people are welcome to bring their own games and Madness is a huge store you never know who you might find willing to play what. We will certainly not be the only people playing in the store. Some libraries sponsor classic board game and chess nights. I know Denton North Branch Library has a chess night. I'm guessing McKinney, Frisco, Plano libraries have something as well. Here is a link to an article with a good explanation of Euro games http://www.thegamesjo...

I very rarely give out my phone number. If your questions can be answered here or through a private e-mail sent via meet up I can address any questions you might have about the upcoming meeting.
