If you are new to mediation and would like to learn how to meditate, you may want to start with this class. Ānāpānasati Meditation (Mindfulness of Breathing) is a meditation practice that helps us achieve concentration and insight, find the "peace" within ourselves in this chaotic world. As "life is in each breath!", the Ānāpānasati method takes breathing as the object of focus. Our breathing becomes the tool for spiritual development. "Knowing" one’s own breathing, one learns to live in the moment and see the "Truth" as is.
Join us for an afternoon of Mindfulness Meditation, guided by Master Jiru, abbot of MABA(U.S.A.), using the four main postures of sitting, standing, walking and laying down. Master Jiru has a very unique and practical approach to teaching mindfulness. Besides teaching at his Monastery in Augusta, Missouri, USA, he also gives teachings in other parts of US, as well as Brazil, Argentina, Taiwan, and Malaysia.
Full attendance (2pm to 6pm) is required.
