for somatic, body and movement practitioners

In these 9 modules you will get a solid foundational knowledge of breathing and an experience of breathing in its variability.
Breathing is first and foremost a self-regulatory process, the body does it by itself. We can contribute by sensing what the body does, listening to it, learning from it. We can support the body in this self-regulatory process through movement, touch and attention. In our explorations, different tactile materials like blankets, balls, balloons... and images/films strengthen sensation and make the physiological principles of breathing more palpable.

The teaching does not involve you being told how to breathe or learning a breathing technique. It is based on many different breathing methods: Middendorf, Veening, TST, Applied Breathing Sciences, Breathing Coordination, Dennis Lewis, Jan Van Dixhoorn, The Breathing School, Juerg Roffler & Somatic Movement Practices among others.

Nicola Caroli is a certified breath teacher from the Institut für Atemlehre, Erika Kemmann Berlin and at the Graduate School of Behavioral Health Sciences.
