The Festival of Wesak commemorates the Birth, Enlightenment, and Ascension of The Lord Buddha. Each year in May, Buddhists and Spiritually-minded people around the world celebrate this important spiritual date in our calendar. This Festival reaches its climax at the time of the first Full Moon in May. This is when the Sun is in Taurus and the Moon is in the opposite sign of Scorpio.
