Freestone Ridge Out and Back

Start your day strong with an early morning hike up Freestone Ridge in the Boise Foothills. This out-and-back route offers wide open views, steady elevation, and a rewarding summit—all before the city wakes up.

This hike is best suited for intermediate hikers comfortable with a challenging climb. We’ll head out early at 6:00 AM to stay ahead of the heat and enjoy the cooler air. Bring water, appropriate hiking shoes for trails, and hiking poles if you use them. Dogs are welcome.
