Basic agenda:
Friday 19 September
You're welcome to arrive any time from 14:00 onwards.
Once you arrive, please drive past the farmhouse, which will be on your left. You'll then reach a large game gate that needs to be closed behind you. Drive a short distance further, and before the dam wall, turn right. From there, simply follow the jeep track directly to the braai lapa, cottages and camping area. Find your cottage or camping space and just unwind and relax until it's time to have a braai at the spacious lapa.
Plenty of braai wood is available to braai and for enjoyable socializing at the lapa near the dam.
Saturday 20 September
Starting at 8:00 from the braai lapa, we will be hiking the White Trail. This easy, relative flat 2A trail is just more than 12 km long with a total elevation gain of 180 meters. It starts and ends at the lapa. Keep an eye out for game such as: Eland, Sable, Springbok, Grey Rhebok, Bontebok, and Zebra. You might also spot a secretary bird, with the beautiful Limietberg mountains as a backdrop.
Kayaks are available if you would rather spend time on the dam or go cycling on the many farm roads.
For those interested, there's an opportunity to visit the Arauna Farm Market near Langkloof Roses. They close at 2:00 PM, so be sure to head over before then.
The braai fire will be lit after 6:00 PM for a fun evening of braai and socializing that can go on until late.
Sunday 21 September
The game drive with Tom, the owner of Bontebok Ridge, will start promptly at 9:00 AM. Tom is very passionate about the farm, and he'll be sharing his knowledge with us during the drive, which will last more than 1.5 hours. Please remember to bring your own refreshments and perhaps a cushion for extra comfort.
We'll then leave for Langkloof Rose at 12:00 PM for a short hike, concluding our weekend with a meal at their restaurant.
