Launch Party for FrizzLit Editions and Nobuko by Trisha Ready

Details
BOLD is thrilled to host a launch party for FrizzLit Editions and Nobuko by Trisha Ready.
Celebrate Trisha Ready’s groundbreaking Nobuko with FrizzLit Editions founder and editor Christopher Frizzelle and managing editor Audrey Van Buskirk.
Nobuko is the first release of FrizzLit Editions, a new independent publishing venture. It’s also the debut novel for Ready, a psychologist, essayist, fiction writer, and poet. Nobuko tells the story of a young American English teacher in the 1980s in Japan. She falls in love with a woman named Nobuko, who lives in a rustic cabin and makes teeth. There are subplots involving the yakuza, food, art, adventure, samurai swords, and various kinds of love.
Author Trisha Ready is a former managing director of Hugo House, where she founded a writing program for homeless youth.
Christopher Frizzelle was editor-in-chief of Seattle’s The Stranger from 2007 to 2016. Under his leadership, The Stranger won a Pulitzer Prize in 2012. In 2020, he founded FrizzLit.
Arrive at 6:30 p.m. to grab a snack or drink. The event will start at 7:00 p.m.
