Children’s Storytime: Julie Showers, Marie Showers, Eva Wrzesinski

BOLD is thrilled to host a special children’s storytime with Julie Showers and Marie Showers, co-authors of Toby's Farm Adventure, and Eva Wrzesinski, illustrator of Toby's Farm Adventure.

Farm Fun! Join us for story time and hands-on activities celebrating Toby’s Farm Adventure. Hear the author read the story, then meet the illustrator for a fun, interactive drawing activity where kids can learn how to draw farm animals. This family-friendly event invites young readers to explore creativity, storytelling, and compassion through art and imagination. Perfect for children and caregivers alike.

Julie Showers and her mother, Marie Showers, created the "Toby" children’s book series to help young readers understand homelessness and second chances. Inspired by real programs and relationships at Blanchet House and Farm, their stories foster empathy, reduce stigma, and spark meaningful conversations for families and classrooms.

Eva Wrzesinski is a Portland-based multimedia artist whose work draws inspiration from the natural world, childhood, and identity. Eva brings warmth and curiosity to their illustrations, helping stories feel inviting, thoughtful, and emotionally resonant for young readers.
