Author Reading: Rani Kathleen McLaughlin, God Who? A Spiritual Memoir
Details
BOLD is thrilled to host a read with Rani Kathleen McLaughlin, author of God Who? A Spiritual Memoir.
What is your path to God? Who is the God that you seek? Are you a seeker, exploring different spiritual paths? Kathleen shares her psychological and spiritual struggles with restrictive patriarchal God-concepts. This engaging event will include reading, discussion, guided imagery, meditation, drumming and story telling as she brings to life different God-concepts, especially the Goddesses Durga and Kali, invoking them to help us in our struggles for freedom from domination.
Beginning with the study of Christian theology, Kathleen McLaughlin was an Associate Professor at Lewis and Clark College. She traveled to India to meet her guru (1973), practiced Vipassana meditation, and was initiated as Murshida Rani in the Sufi Message of Hazrat Inayat Khan. She has been a psychotherapist in Portland since 1990.
Arrive at 6:30 p.m. to grab a snack or drink. The event will start at 7:00 p.m.
