The Bonn Code Meetup is back after a long COVID-19 hiatus with a new instalment that will focus on coding and communication culture. Both talks are based on hands-on experiences from diverse, intercultural product and engineering teams that are part of a fast-growing SaaS company. What did we learn about collaboration and communication in this environment on balancing growth, quality, knowledge and culture?

Talk description
Balancing product-driven with developer-driven priorities is in some way the eternal struggle in software companies since the dawn of modern computers. It is a very complex problem with many moving parts, conflicting interests and priorities. But I vote that we as developers keep being open minded about our communication as there might be room for improvements to make our efforts more transparent, understandable, and in the end help to get them prioritised. We will uncover insights that we gained on write technical epics and stories and hopefully some guidance to overcome them.

Talk description
Code reviews are part of my daily work as a software developer. Therefore it's important to understand what goal I'm trying to achieve and how to get the most out of them in respect to code quality and developer relations.

I'm going to present parts of Google's Engineering Practices "Code Review Developer Guide" and my personal opinions, which have helped me enjoy doing code reviews more.

I hope to hear some of your tips and experiences in the Q&A part.
