Riddle of the Dinosaur by John N Wilford (304 pages) - Dinosaur Ridge (5 miles)

Details
The Pulitzer Prize-winning science reporter of The New York Times presents here a "lively introduction to many of the fascinating characters who have pursued and studied dinosaur bones, and a survey of two centuries of scientific thought on evolution" (The New York Times). Black-and-white halftones.
Let's discuss The Riddle of the Dinosaur while hiking at Dinosaur Ridge.
Inexpensive used copies of the book can be found on eBay. The book was first published 40 years ago, has been reprinted, but might be harder to find in a library.
We'll meet at the kiosk by the vault toilets at 6am, starting up the Zorro trail at 6:15am. Sunrise is at 5:36am so we'll have plenty of light. Plan is to go up the Zorro trail, walk the ridge, cross Alameda, continue on the south loop, before coming back to Alameda, walking to the raptor track, quarry, larger trackway and down to the museum. I'm thinking 5ish miles with a few hundred foot elevation gain. 2.2 mph pace on dirt, 3mph pace on flat.

I prefer to hike without pets or children.
You'll want normal hiking stuff, hat, water, sunglasses.
