A Book Community meet ‘n’ greet: The Book of Jakarta

This is the first meeting for a new book community to discuss The Book of Jakarta, a collection of ten fictional tales, all written by natives or once-residents of the city. No reading or prior knowledge is required to join; this is simply a chance for the members of this new book community to meet in-person, set expectations, and enjoy some Indonesian food for lunch.

We will meet at La Macarena, a food truck off of S Havana St. & E Colorado Ave. This and other food trucks are located in a parking lot; it is encouraged you parallel park on E Colorado Avenue. You will find us at a table under the tarp in front of the food truck.

We will introduce ourselves, discussing some background on the book, set a reading schedule based on members’ availability and goals, and socialize.
