Here is a summary of the book that inspired the Reacher TV series, as per Goodreads:
Jack Reacher.
The ultimate loner.
An elite ex-military cop who left the service years ago, he's moved from place to place...without family...without possessions...without commitments.
And without fear. Which is good, because trouble--big, violent, complicated trouble--finds Reacher wherever he goes. And when trouble finds him, Reacher does not quit, not once...not ever.
But some unfinished business has now found Reacher. And Reacher is a man who hates unfinished business.
Ten years ago, a key investigation went sour and someone got away with murder. Now a chance encounter brings it all back. Now Reacher sees his one last shot. Some would call it vengeance. Some would call it redemption. Reacher would call it...justice.
FAQ:
1. How does this book club work?
Read as much of the book as possible closer to the date. If you haven't finished the book or have just started, that's fine! Just be prepared for spoilers and a good time. The two co-hosts will start off by getting everyone's ratings, and then asking questions.
Please be respectful of the co-hosts, and allow them to lead the book club as they see fit. Some like to bring up questions on the spot and go with the flow, and some like to come prepared with their own questions ahead of time. If you have a question about the book and are curious to hear other peoples' opinion that's fine, but openly criticizing how hosts are running the session will not be tolerated.
2. Why is the capacity still at 15 even though we're at a different venue for March?
Although we have the second floor for Pheasant Plucker, we don't want to overwhelm the space and we want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the space by ensuring manageable numbers. Thank you for your understanding!
3. I'm still on the waitlist and it's a day before book club - can I still come?
You can only come IF and ONLY IF you reach out to Basma on MeetUp (via private messages) that you intend to come. Basma will then move you to 'going'. If Basma does not hear from you on Wednesday, the 26th, 2025 by 8 pm, Basma will move you to "not going".
