What we’re about
The Book Club at Wolverine Farm is an inclusive group, for anyone who loves to read and discuss books. We meet the third Wednesday of each month at 10:30, upstairs.
We will focus on contemporary fiction and mysteries/suspense but be open to almost anything and will consider everyone’s suggestions of solid and notable writing, our motto being, “We don’t read junk, at least not on purpose.”
We will try to only read books available in paperback, so it is easier for everyone to access. With that proving harder to do lately, and hardcovers often being the same price or cheaper anymore, we will continue to work with that!
Finishing the book isn't a requirement, if you don't mind spoilers! If you're in the neighborhood and want to check it out - join us for the discussion. We’ll also talk about what we want to read in the future and need your input! 🤗
You can contact me here or through theravingmavin@gmail.com.

See all- The Book Club at Wolverine Farm, "The Wedding People" by Alison Espach for JuneWolverine Farm Letterpress and Publick House, Fort Collins, CO
Last month we selected our books for the next four months and our book for June is, "The Wedding People" by Alison Espach. This appears to be a book about grief, depression, suicide ideation, and a wedding ... that's essentially a comedy. Well, we'll see what the highly intelligent, wildly attractive, and truly gifted members of the Book Club at Wolverine Farm thinks about that. This is what Goodreads has to say about this very popular novel ---
Goodreads Choice Award
Winner for Readers' Favorite Fiction (2024)A propulsive and uncommonly wise novel about one unexpected wedding guest and the surprising people who help her start anew.
"It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself. Meanwhile, the bride has accounted for every detail and every possible disaster the weekend might yield except for, well, Phoebe and Phoebe's plan—which makes it that much more surprising when the two women can’t stop confiding in each other."
In turns absurdly funny and devastatingly tender, Alison Espach’s The Wedding People is ultimately an incredibly nuanced and resonant look at the winding paths we can take to places we never imagined—and the chance encounters it sometimes takes to reroute us.
Join us for what 'm sure will be a lively discussion with a fun group of people!
I HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
