So, You Want to Host a Bookish Encounter?

Hey All!

There are over 500 of us in the group! Awesome that we're growing, but I also know a lot of people have reading interests or time availability that isn't going to line up with the events that are currently being posted.

If you're interested in hosting a book club through Bookish Encounters, or want to hear what we're all about, we'll be having an informal afternoon event at my house on a cozy Sunday afternoon. I'll provide the basics for a cheese board, please bring something to share!

We'll probably chat in small groups for a while, then try to sit down and collectively collect our thoughts. This will be a 2 ish hour event, and I hope to see you all there!

If you'd like to comment with your bookish encounter idea, or what you can bring for the charcuterie board, feel free! If you have any special dietary needs (vegan, gluten free, etc), please let me know so we can accommodate you.

Parking is plentiful at my house, and the Amaya trolley station is about 1.25 miles away. I do live on top of a high hill (the street name isn't a lie!), so if you walk from the trolley, make sure you're able to make it up the hill. There are a few low steps to enter my home, so if you need a wheelchair ramp, please let me know.

We will likely do this again online, for people who can't make an in person event. However, it's just easier to not split my time with a hybrid situation. If you're interested in attending an online event, please leave a comment.

If the event is full, please add yourself to the wait list! We can accommodate a large number, but I don't want to start high and be overwhelmed. Please keep your RSVP current as a courtesy to your hosts and fellow attendees. It helps when buying supplies!

Please leave small children and dogs at home, though you are welcome to bring other adult women or teenaged children who can be left unsupervised. We do have 2 men and 2 cats in our home, so please be aware if you have allergies.
