Tokyo Books and Things

This is a meetup group for book lovers where members can meet like-minded people and talk in English about books and writers. Foreigners and Japanese are welcome. There are (1) a monthly fiction club, (2) regular events where people can talk casually about books they're reading on their own or travel, and (3) occasionally other events such as a film, museum, winebar/restaurant meetup or other get-together.

Locations

The monthly fiction club meets in Omotesando on a weeknight once a month. The talk-about-a-book-you're-reading-or-travel event meets in Omotesando on a weeknight once a month.

Rules

Group members are required to 

1) Use their real first name on their member profile.

2) Use a real photo of themselves (doesn't have to be a closeup, but the face should be visible, and it shouldn't be a group photo).

3) Avoid the following, so that everyone can have a good time (ignoring this will lead to quick removal from the group):

-- No-shows to an event
-- General rudeness/antisocial behavior
-- Harassing or impolite e-mails/greetings
-- Aggressive approaches toward the opposite sex, to the point of discomfort
-- Promoting your own business/social group; as part of this, please don't post information unrelated to the event in the comments section 

Aim

We aim to be a place where members can enjoy casual discussions about books and related things. People who share this idea are warmly welcomed.
