Books & Brews Book Club - August Meeting

Details
Grab a drink, pull up a chair, and join us for this month’s Books & Brews Book Club—where good stories meet great conversation (and no one minds if you didn’t finish the book). Whether you’ve read one title, both, or are just here for the vibe, you’re absolutely welcome.
This month we’re reading two compelling, very different stories:
🚀 Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Set against the backdrop of NASA’s 1980s Space Shuttle program, Atmosphere follows Joan Goodwin, one of the first female astronauts, as she navigates the intense world of space exploration. When a mission goes catastrophically wrong, Joan finds herself at the center of a crisis—both in orbit and in her own life. With themes of ambition, identity, and a hidden love affair, this novel explores what it means to take up space—literally and figuratively—in a world not built for you.
🔍 Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica
A gripping domestic thriller where two women and a child disappear from a quiet suburb—and years later, only one of them returns. As secrets unravel and timelines converge, the community begins to question what really happened. Told in multiple perspectives and timelines, this twisty novel will keep you guessing until the very last page.
