The Joy of Self-Acceptance...and how to achieve it

Details

Self-acceptance is the practice of recognising and embracing your authentic self, complete with all your strengths and flaws. Self-acceptance is the first step in gaining unbreakable confidence. Others may still hurt you, because you are human, but they can't change the essence of who you are, because that's not on the table to negotiate.

It's about being true to yourself. But it doesn't mean you are standing still, because part of self-acceptance is knowing that you are not meant to know it all, and that you will continue to grow and learn.

Imposter syndrome is impossible when you have self-acceptance.

Our relationships with others become happier, because we stop people- pleasing in order to fit in.

And we start living our lives in accordance with our values, rather than acting out of alignment with them.

As Brene Brown says, "Fitting in is the opposite of belonging."
