Boots On Adventures

Welcome to our friendly outdoor group of outdoors lovers where we aim to provide more smiles per mile than any other outdoor group!

We look forward to welcoming you!

Our activities include weekday and weekend walks, night hikes, foraging events, campfires, weekends away (both local and through out England), specialist trips and much more...

Our ethos has always been strongly embedded in building community with the aim to be the most friendliest group in Kent (and I am proud to say that I believe we exceed that thanks to our members).

Dogs on lead are welcome on all walking events unless otherwise stated (please check with us on other events) as long as they are friendly, well behaved.

The group is run by Ian Henderson (Lowland Leader) and his wife Erika Patt.

We are fully insured and first aid trained to give you complete peace of mind. The team extends to Sara Hibbins (Lowland Leader) and Peter White (Hill and Moorland), Ben Crozier (history leader) and Rachel Stockey (Lowland Leader) who joins us for the weekend expeditions.

Learn more about this wonderful walk:
Discover one of the most distinctive landscapes in the South East on this guided circular hike through the High Weald, led by the experienced Boots on Adventures team. Covering approximately 21.6 kilometres (13.4 miles), this route offers a rewarding mix of woodland paths, sandstone ridges, and countryside trails, making it one of our more adventurous walks.
Starting from Upper Pantiles Car Park in Tunbridge Wells, the walk begins by gradually leaving the town behind and entering a network of woodland trails that characterise this part of the High Weald. The terrain soon becomes more varied, with undulating paths and a series of steady climbs contributing to a total ascent of around 406 metres.
A major highlight of the walk is the exploration of Harrison’s Rocks and Eridge Rocks, two impressive sandstone formations that rise from the surrounding woodland. These natural features create a dramatic contrast to the softer landscapes of fields and hedgerows, offering unique viewpoints and a sense of scale rarely found elsewhere in the region.
As the route continues, we cross between Kent and Sussex, adding a subtle sense of progression to the walk as the scenery shifts between counties. Quiet rural paths, shaded woodland sections, and open viewpoints combine to create a varied and engaging experience throughout the day.
This is one of our longer routes, with an estimated walking time of 5.5 to 6.5 hours, allowing for breaks and time to enjoy the surroundings. The distance and elevation mean this walk is best suited to those with a good level of fitness who are comfortable covering longer distances at a steady pace.
Meeting at 9:15am for a prompt 9:30am start at Upper Pantiles Car Park, there are additional nearby parking options including Linden Park Road, Union House, and other central car parks if needed.
With its combination of striking natural features, woodland scenery, and a sense of exploration, this walk offers a memorable day out for those looking to experience a different side of the Kent and Sussex
