A historical walk around Sandgate to Hythe and Shorncliffe

On the 25th May we will be strolling from the seaside town of Sandgate to visit the nearby Hythe and Shornecliffe. The walk will start at Battery Point Car Park which is a paid car park. Parking along the front is free if you can find a space. From the car park we will make our way along the coast and via the Royal Military Canal to Hythe where we will visit the intriguing church of St Leonards. On the way back we will pass through fields and woods to visit Shorncliffe and its military cemetery before descending to Sandgate. Along the way we will hear tales of brave heroes and their love of hermit women, great comedians and a mystery of a room full of bones.

🐾 Friendly dogs are welcome! Please ensure they're leashed when needed, especially around fields with livestock. The owner is fully responsible for their furry friend.

🎒 Before hitting the trail, make sure to pack:
🥿 A. Suitable footwear (preferably walking boots or sturdy shoes, no flip-flops)
🧥 B. A waterproof coat (and waterproof trousers, if you have them) for rainy days
💧 C. Drinking water and a snack
💊 D. Personal medication (Let us know confidentially about any medical conditions)
👕 E. Suitable walking attire

📸 We take photos on our walks for promotional and training purposes. If you don't want to be included, let us know on the day.
