Renegade Burner

We are excited to host a special Border Burner gathering on Sunday, March 27, 2022 when we present Sandeep Rao.

Sandeep is an intrepid Border Burner member who dared to travel to the Black Rock Desert site of Burning Man to attend the "Renegade Burn"!
This gathering was an UNofficial burn that came together last year which was the second consecutive year that the official burn was cancelled because of the pandemic.

Sandeep will tell us about his adventurous trip and what happened when several thousand people came together to create Burning Man their own way and on their own.

Was it a Fyre Island-style fiasco? A super spreader event? What can we learn from this?

As part of his journey, Sandeep also camped overnight at Fly Ranch. Home to the Fly Geyser, Fly Ranch was acquired by the Burning Man organization as a possible permanent home for Burning Man. It is also a unique experimental project being designed to create a community guided by regenerative cycles for food, water, power, shelter and air.
