Elf Mebrook!👏 Celebrate Syria Day 🇸🇾 with bites, baklava, & belly dancing💃🏻

On Friday, April 17th, we’ll travel to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to celebrate Syrian Independence Day! 🇸🇾🥧

We have venues for the earlybirds, the main event, and the afterparty below lol. Try to come to the restaurant by 6:50 as they are busy and we have a reservation for 32. Addresses and google map links are all at the bottom.

The early birds 🦚
From 5:30 to 6:45, we'll get drinks and appetizers at Soul of Palestine 🍉 including manaqish (flat breads), yogurt drinks, and tea.

The main event 🍢
At 6:50, we’ll meet at Laila to have shish tawouk, kibbe, and stuffed grape leaves. There will be belly dancing at 8pm too. 💃🏻

The afterparty 🥐
We’ll walk 20 minutes to some of the finest Arabic sweets in NYC (should get there around 9/9:30) Sweet shops include Brooklyn Baklava, Nablus Sweets and Paradise Sweets where we’ll have Lebanese baklava, halawet al jibn (from Syria) and kanafe.

We’ll end the night checking out the snacks and spices at Balady Halal Foods (an Arabic supermarket) and then going to a coffee shop or a hookah bar.

Please only RSVP if you think you can make it and adjust your RSVP asap if anything changes (as there are other people who would like your spot). Two no shows or cancellations within 6 hours results in a 4 month ban. I will send a reminder 24 hours in advance to the group.
