Our mission is to assist, educate, and encourage entrepreneurs with the pursuit of new business enterprises; to support new and existing entrepreneurs through all phases of business, from the start-up and development to the greatest successful and robust growth and expansion possible; to support and encourage the ongoing development of education, certification, professionalism, and ethics in business and finance practices.
One of the Excelsior Institute’s goals is to assist individuals in starting and growing small businesses. To that end, Excelsior has developed, in cooperation with the Professional Business Services, Inc. a 16 course educational program about business start-ups that include classes on entity selection, accounting, credit, finance, tax, insurance, marketing, technology, and government programs, to name a few. Excelsior Institute of Business and Finance has secured industry leading professionals with substantial experience and education to guide you on your journey to business success.
The program will be held in 16 sessions, two per week, for 3 hours per night and includes research assignments, business plan creation, one-on-one counseling, group discussions, presentations to financial sources and an award ceremony. Upon course completion, students will have a fully operational and licensed business. Because of the comprehensive nature of the class and the step by step process, from concept to fully operational legally registered business, students will be required to attend all sessions and devote time outside of class to their business. It is encouraged that all owners of the business attend and discounts will be applied on a per company basis. Your effort and commitment to your business will determine your success, but you are welcome to continue with your current employment while attending the course.
Students of the BOSS Class Basic receive comprehensive information via industry professionals, one-on-one situations with experienced mentors, prospective investors, and knowledgeable service providers. Each graduate will complete a business plan including a marketing plan, sales plan and exit strategy plan amounting to a $2,000 value. In addition, students will have access to various funding sources and investors, and will receive a “Certificate of Completion.” This is required for consideration for enrollment in our Accelerator-Incubator program, our follow on tutorial program. The BOSS Class Basic starts at $600 with discounts for partnerships on a per company basis.
Students of the BOSS Class Plus will, in addition to the BOSS Class Basic deliverables, a legally registered business filed with the state*, and a vendor’s license* if needed. The BOSS Class Plus starts at $1200 with discounts for partnerships available on a per company basis.
