Tech Talk: How to prepare a 100 TB dataset for ML Training
Speaker: Ryan Hughes
Abstract: Dive into the nuances of preparing a 100-terabyte dataset for machine learning, drawing from firsthand experience tackling this challenge at a startup. Whether you're a novice eager to learn query writing and indexing or an advanced practitioner exploring sophisticated database strategies, this session offers insights for all levels. With discussions on viable and non-viable approaches, participants will gain practical skills in managing massive datasets for their ML projects.
Tech Talk: Getting started with Generative AI
Speaker: Michael Boensel
Abstract: We will examine the landscape of different providers of Gen AI capabilities. This runs the gamut from completely hosted services like those provided by OpenAI to self-hosted Models that can be obtained through HuggingFaces or other Model repositories. We will learn to:
- Discover new Models
- Understand a Model's strengths/weaknesses
- Stand up the Models
Hands-on examples will be performed live.
Who Should Attend:
Anyone intrigued or interested in AI, its usage, and its impacts on society. Beginners are welcome (we are all beginners at some point!).
