Join us for a special Boston AI Week event: an in-person conversation and Q&A with **Congressman Jake Auchincloss**, who represents Massachusetts’ 4th Congressional District.

Congressman Auchincloss serves on key committees that shape technology, innovation, and economic policy at the federal level.
This session will provide a thoughtful dialogue on how artificial intelligence intersects with governance, ethics, and economic opportunity.

Congressman Auchincloss will share his perspective on how Massachusetts can continue to lead in AI, how Congress is approaching questions of trust and safety, and what the future of innovation means for citizens, workers, and communities.

This event is part of Boston AI Week, a grassroots, community-led festival convening more than 10,000 participants across 100+ events.

**Jacob “Jake” D. Auchincloss** (b. January 29, 1988, Newton, Massachusetts) is serving his third term as the U.S. Representative for Massachusetts’ 4th Congressional District.

* **Early Life & Education:** He was born and raised in Newton. His parents are physician-scientists. He graduated from Newton North High School, went on to Harvard College (BA in Government & Economics), and later earned an MBA in Finance from MIT Sloan. 
    
* **Military Service:** After Harvard, Auchincloss joined the United States Marine Corps. He commanded infantry in Afghanistan and led a reconnaissance unit in Panama. He remains in the Marine Corps Reserve, now holding the rank of Major. 
    
* **Local Government & Career:** Returning home after active military duty, he was elected to the Newton City Council in 2015 and re-elected in 2017 and 2019. Concurrently, he worked in business: product development in cybersecurity, with a Fortune-100 company’s innovation lab, and directed MIT’s $100K Entrepreneurship Competition. 
    
* **Congressional Service:** Elected to Congress in 2020 (taking office January 3, 2021), succeeding Joe Kennedy III. His focus areas in Congress include healthcare, clean energy, gun violence prevention, and strengthening the middle class. He serves on the **House Committee on Energy & Commerce** among others. 
    
* **Personal Life:** Jake lives in Newton with his wife Michelle, their children Teddy, Grace, and Audrey, and their Labrador retriever named Donut.
